Project Description

The project is a partnership between the Northshore Utility District and The City of Kirkland and is divided into the following two schedules:

Schedule A: Northshore Utility District Pipeline Improvements:

The Northshore Utility District Improvements include the installation of approximately 450 LF of 16-inch ductile-iron sanitary sewer force main, 40 LF of 6-inch PVC side sewer, 265 LF of 8-inch PVC sewer main, and 300 LF of 8-inch ductile-iron water main.

Schedule B:  City of Kirkland Intersection Improvements:

The City of Kirkland improvements include installation of approximately 475 LF of 10-foot-wide sidewalk (including a 20-foot-long section of cantilevered sidewalk extension), a driveway entrance, two ADA ramps, approximately 4,700 SY of 3-inch pavement grind and overlay, and signing and signalization improvements.

The project is located at the intersection of Totem Lake Blvd NE and 120th Ave NE next to the Totem Lake Mall in Kirkland.  The intersection is within Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) limited access right-of-way and is subject to WSDOT permit requirements.  Work hours are from 9 pm to 5 am,  Sunday night through Thursday night.  Traffic control requirements include shutting down an on-ramp and an off-ramp along the I-405 freeway.  Locations of the proposed improvements are shown on the project construction plans. The engineer’s construction cost estimate is $1,200,000.00 including sales tax.

Due to COVID-19, the public bid opening will be conducted remotely. Bidders may attend the Bid Opening online using Microsoft Teams.
