Benefits

Our employees can participate in benefit plans that provide choice and flexibility. Recognizing individual and family needs can vary greatly, our plans and programs are built to accommodate our diverse employee population. We offer a comprehensive benefits package. In addition to a number of optional programs, employees are eligible to enroll in one of several health care plans. Our 457(b) Deferred Compensation Plan offers a variety of investment options.

Medical, Dental, & Vision

Our plans cover medical services & prescription drugs and are designed to protect employees from healthcare expenses should an illness or injury occur. Employees have various medical plan options to choose from – either managed care plans or preferred provider plans. We pay 100% of the premium costs for employees & their eligible dependents for most plan options. Preventive care and wellness programs are key components of all our plans. To help our employees and their families maintain good dental health, our dental plans promote preventive care, and when treatment is needed, cover a broad range of services.

Retirement Plan

We offer our employees a three-tiered retirement plan: Social Security Benefits, Public Employee's Retirement System (PERS), and an Optional 457(b) Deferred Compensation Plan. All employees are covered by the Social Security Insurance System.  Both the employee and the District pay the amount required by law into the system. As a public employer, most of our employees are eligible for retirement benefits administered by the Washington State Department of Retirement Systems. Employees have two plans to choose from. Our Optional 457(b) plan allows eligible employees to contribute to their account through payroll deductions.  Our plans offer diversified investment portfolios to help meet retirement savings goals.

Term & Accident Insurance

District-paid and optional term life and accident insurance help protect against financial hardship in the event of serious injury or death. Our long-term disability coverage can help maintain a stable income when employees become disabled through injury or illness.

Employee Assistance Program

Access to an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is available via a 24-hour hotline. The EAP provides no-cost, confidential assistance for a variety of personal and professional issues, including stress, financial challenges, work-related issues, or marital and family counseling.

Flexible Spending Accounts

Save money in taxes by using the Flexible Spending Accounts to pay for eligible health care or dependent care expenses on a pre-tax basis.
