WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT & RESTORATION

The Northshore Utility District (NUD) is committed to providing safe and reliable water & sewer services to its customers.  NUD actively partners with other agencies to achieve this goal and views the customer as a partner as well.  We know that construction can be very disruptive and noisy; however, this is necessary to provide the best service possible for now and into the future.  NUD staff appreciate your patience as we work in your area.

WHAT WORK IS GOING TO HAPPEN?

Northshore Utility District (NUD) awarded a contract to B & B Utilities who will be replacing 3350 feet of water main, 97 water services, 7 fire hydrants, and replacing 35 pedestrian ramps prior to the asphalt overlay.

The final grind and asphalt overlay in all neighborhoods will take place in late fall as weather allows.

IMPACTS TO RESIDENTS

Local access to driveways, emergency vehicles, garbage pickup, and mail service will be facilitated. There may be a few minutes’ delay when the equipment is directly in front of a driveway, so please allow extra time in your travel schedule.

Advanced notifications will be provided for planned water outages and are not expected to last more than 6-8 hours during a single day. Due to timing and reconnecting the underground pipes, some customers will experience 2-3 planned outages during the project. Notice will be provided 3-5 business days in advance of the single day outages.

PROJECT SCHEDULE UPDATE AS OF MARCH 27, 2026

NE 122^nd Place and NE 121^st Place cul-de-sac work to begin on April 16, 2026

The contractor will be moving into the neighborhood to begin work on the northern portion of the project first, installing water main and services.  A tentative schedule estimates that the water line pipe work will be completed in mid-June and the restoration, including pedestrian ramps and overlay, should be completed by end of July weather depending.

81^st Ave NE, NE 121^st St, and NE 120^th St. work to begin around June 2026

The contractor will be moving into this area to begin the pipe installation. This area is tentatively scheduled to be completed with pipe work around September, with pedestrian ramps and overlay completion scheduled for late October dependent on weather.

The contractor is still working on specific details of the schedule. Additional information will be included on this page as it becomes available.
