Project Description
The work to be performed consists of approximately 950 LF of 6”, 3,350 LF of 8”, and 20 LF of 12” diameter restrained joint ductile iron water main replacement and 8 connections to the existing water system. The work also includes replacement of 97 water services, 7 fire hydrant assemblies, 7 blowoff assemblies, 1 air and vacuum relief valve (ARV) assembly. Existing water main and appurtenances shall be filled and abandoned in place. Restoration includes trench patching, asphalt grind & overlay, curb, sidewalk & 35 ADA ramp replacements.

The engineer’s construction cost estimate is $3,900,000.00 to $4,400,000.00 including sales tax. Apprentice utilization requirements per RCW 39.04.320 apply to this contract.

This online plan room provides Bidders with fully usable online documents with the ability to: download, view, print, order full/partial plan sets from numerous reprographic sources, and a free online digitizer/take-off tool. It is recommended that Bidders “Register” in order to receive automatic email notification of future addenda and to place themselves on the “Self-Registered Bidders List”. Bidders that do not register will not be automatically notified of addenda and will need to periodically check the on-line plan room for addenda issued on this project. Each bid must be submitted on the “Proposal” forms provided in Section 5 of the “Specifications, Proposal and Contract Documents” and shall be accompanied by a bid proposal deposit in the form of a surety bond, postal money order, cashier’s check or certified check made payable to King County Treasurer, King County, Washington for a sum of not less than 5 percent of the total bid. A bid shall not be considered unless accompanied by such bid proposal deposit.
CONTRACT AWARD
A contract, if awarded, will be based upon the lowest responsive and responsible bid or bids as defined in more detail in the bid documents.
Northshore Utility District reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to delete portions or all of the work, to substitute alternative bid item prices for base bid item prices, to waive any informality in bidding, and to make the award deemed to be in the best interest of the District.
Proposals received after the time announced for the opening will not be considered. No bidder may withdraw its bid after the time announced for the opening or before the award and execution of the contract(s) unless the award is delayed for a period exceeding sixty (60) calendar days.
