CONSERVATION
FREE CONSERVATION ITEMS
All of the conservation items below are free for our
customers and are available at our office from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday,
or call (425) 398-4400 to have them mailed to your home.
Dye Tablets
Dye tablets provide an easy way to check
your toilets for leaks. Simply drop a tablet in the toilet tank and wait 15 minutes.
If color appears in the toilet bowl, you have a leak.
Aerators
Aerators reduce water flow through faucets and add air making the water bubbly.
They are easy to install.
Shower Timers
Shower timers save water by reminding you to keep your shower time
short. The dial rotates to reset the five-minute hourglass.
Shower Heads
You can save water and energy by switching to low-flow showerheads. Low-flow showerheads use 2.5 gallons per
minute or less and still provide plenty of pressure. Northshore provides free showerheads (up to
two per household) for our customers. If you would like a new showerhead, bring your old showerhead to our office between
8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. If you are not sure how much
water your current showerhead uses, call (425) 398-4400, ext 113
to have a
shower flow-rate measurer mailed to your home.
Rain Gauge
Rain gauges help you keep track of rainfall so you can be efficient with your lawn watering.
Toilet Tank Bank
Use the toilet tank bank to displace water in the tank (back) of older toilets (pre 1993)
and save .5 - .7 gallons per flush.
