Trudy C. Rolla


Trudy's family of four moved to Kenmore in 1988 to find an area with good schools, a suburban atmosphere and convenient services. She was born in Seattle, and raised in Renton, Issaquah and Bellevue. Trudy earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Health at the University of Washington and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Puget Sound. Trudy is a Senior Environmental Health Specialist in the Environmental Health Division of Public Health – Seattle & King County, in the Local Hazardous Waste Management Program in King County. As Evaluation Coordinator for the Local Hazardous Waste Management Program, she ensures that the program is accountable to the public. She has twelve years experience in small drinking water systems and ground water management. During that time, she worked with the Safe Drinking Water Act, the State Department of Health drinking water system requirements, the Growth Management Act, the King County Comprehensive Plan and ground water resource planning. She has reviewed land development proposals, on-site sewage disposal system design and installation, and worked in the food protection, rodent control and solid waste programs.

Trudy has been a member of the Washington State Environmental Health Association since 1982. She served as Treasurer and Northwest Regional Vice President. She has been a member of the National Environmental Health Association since 1985 and was elected to a term on the Executive Board as the RegionaI Vice President, representing NEHA members in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Alaska.

Trudy believes people should contribute to their community. She served on the Kenmore Governance Strategies Committee, which set the groundwork for Kenmore's incorporation.  She has been on the Northshore Utility District Board of Commissioners since 1994.
